  1. Using Chiropractic Care to Relieve Lower Back Pain

June 27, 2011 by Dr. Richard Speizer

If you are experiencing pain in your lower back due to a recent injury or your occupational demands chiropractic care may be able to help.

To help diagnose and treat this all too common type of pain we would first take a look at your medical history and do a brief physical examination to see if chiropractic treatment is a viable option. This diagnosis usually takes anywhere from 20-45 minutes if you stop by our Sandy Springs Chiropractic office.

Treatment of lower back pain involves adjusting misaligned joints throughout the spine and lower back. This is a painless procedure but as the joints are manipulated you may encounter some soreness in the few days following your chiropractic treatment. Acute back pain can often be relieved in less than 6 weeks while relief from chronic pain is determined by your individual circumstances. Our Sandy Springs Chiropractic service aims to rehabilitate the functionality in your lower back and also to help prevent any further injuries.

Stop by today and see why so many people are thrilled with our Sandy Springs Chiropractic care!

  2. Recovering from Auto Accidents

May 5, 2011 by Dr. Richard Speizer

Auto accidents can critically impact a family. Severe injury and sometimes death often result from a crash. If you have been injured in a car accident an appointment with a local chiropractor is usually a good first step. I specialize in providing chiropractic care in response to auto accidents throughout the Sandy Springs, Georgia (30328) area.

A common effect of an auto accident is having your neck and spine being thrust forward by extreme force, we refer to this as whiplash. When it occurs, the bones in these areas are thrown out of alignment. This shift is not irreversible however, I have been able to correct nearly 100% of the whiplash cases I see through non-invasive chiropractic treatments.

Massage therapy can also be used to stimulate the muscles, tendons and ligaments in the affected area. Depending on the severity of the injury I may recommend complementing the chiropractic adjustments with a massage. Most massage appointments last from 30 to 60 minutes and are done right here in my office.

After I have realigned the bones in the neck and spine it is important to make sure the structure holds. I will recommend exercises and stretches to work into your routine that will help retain the correct shape of the skeletal system as you recover from the effects of the accident.

Without treatment the pain and discomfort from a car accident can affect your lifestyle for years. If you or a loved one are suffering through the effects of an automobile accident please come in to our Sandy Springs office for an appointment today and see what a difference chiropractic care can make!
